Silent Installation of ComponentOne Installers

Many customers have asked us whether there is any way to silently install C1 installer on a computer. When we normally run C1 installer it requires local administrator rights and asks permission to make an entry to the registry. Users may opt for Silent Installation to solve this. As the name suggests, it is the installation that does not display messages or windows during its progress. This requires you to make sure that the license is already activated on the machine. One time licensing would require the administrator's permission, but every C1 installer updation would not unless the license expires/deactivated. Here are the steps for the same: 1. Download the C1 Licensing application from the following link: http://prerelease.componentone.com/dotnet20/C1Licensing/2012-T1/ 2. Use this utility to activate the license on your machine before you run the installer. 3. Once the license is activated you may install using command prompt, i.e. msiexec.exe /i \\Path\to\MSI\<installername.msi> /qb This should run silently as long as the machine is already licensed.
