ComponentOne Studio Enterprise Release Delivers Controls for Flexible & Modern .NET Development

A Collection of Tools for Developing High Performance and Richly Designed Apps in Every Platform

PITTSBURGH, PA – November 13, 2014 – ComponentOne a division of GrapeCity, the largest component solution provider in the Microsoft Visual Studio Partner Ecosystem, has released ComponentOne Studio Enterprise 2014 v3. ComponentOne Studio Enterprise is a world-renowned suite of data and UI controls for Microsoft Visual Studio, including Windows Store, Windows Desktop and HTML5. The v3 release of Studio Enterprise focuses on optimizing performance, enriching data analysis, and delivering the latest Web technology to software developers and architects. "With Studio Enterprise, web developers will value that our development team added data virtualization for better loading performance, an AngularJS template for MVC, and a new set of JavaScript / HTML5 controls," said Dan Beall, product marketing manager at ComponentOne. For developers looking to quickly get started with a single page application using AngularJS and Bootstrap, the new template within Studio Enterprise 2014 v3 comes pre-populated with the JavaScript controls found in Wijmo 5. "With our new enhanced templates developers will be able to rapidly develop MVC applications with interfaces richer than Web Forms," said Beall. SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) provides an array of tools and services; the Reports for WinForms product which is part of Studio Enterprise has newly added support for viewing SSRS reports. "With our full-featured print preview component (C1PrintPreview) developers are able to pass parameters, render and view SSRS reports," said Beall. "For others looking to bring the power of SQL Server Reporting Services to Windows Store apps, there is also a new SSRS Viewer for WinRT XAML. The new WinRT SSRS Viewer control is an easy way to embed SSRS reports directly into applications." Online Analytical Processing (OLAP) is a tool ComponentOne has had as an offering for years. What is new in this release is the product has been extended to Windows Presentation Foundation (WPF) and cube support has been added. ComponentOne OLAP (C1Olap) allows users to connect to OLAP data sources from Microsoft® SQL Server® Analysis Services. "With just a few lines of code, C1Olap users can build a multi-dimensional pivot table that slices and dices the dimensions, and measures Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) present in the OLAP cube," said Beall. Rounding out the top highlights of the Studio Enterprise v3 release, are new ASP.NET Maps and a ASP.NET TreeMap. The new Maps for ASP.NET Wijmo allows users to visualize geographical data on a map and the new TreeMap for ASP.NET Wijmo lets users analyze data in new ways with a tiled tree map chart. Announced as a Beta in the preceding release of Studio Enterprise, was the company’s support for Universal apps in their WinRT XAML offering. Now officially released to the web, users may use a single set of controls to build Universal Windows apps. "Developers can now easily share code and XAML across their Windows Store and Windows Phone apps," said Beall. "The suite contains UI controls for Windows 8.1 and Windows Phone 8.1 apps."
