C1XapOptimizer does not support optimizing Lightswitch applications.

Lightswitch runtime uses reflection hence it is generally speaking impossible to determine which types are really needed in a XAP. In fact, XapOptimizer warns about it in the pruning tab. Hence it cannot support Lightswitch optimization.

Did you deactivate your old license first before activating the new license key?

If yes, please let me know if the About Box of the controls show the evaluation message or does it show your license details.
a. If it shows Evaluation message, then the license is not activated. Please try the steps mentioned in the licensing blog.
b. If the About Box shows the license details, then check for the license entries in the licenses.licx file. You need to have a license entry even for the controls created in code.

If the above steps do not work, create a new application and place all the controls used in your application on the form. This will create the corresponding entries in the licenses.licx file. Rebuild and run your application. If this application does not show the nag screen, then please copy the licenses.licx file from the new application to your project and then rebuild and run your application.

In case all the above steps fail, please send your licenses.licx file and your serial key at supportone@componentone.com.

Although I have not tried to deactivate it yet. Did try removing the Product Version, Culture and PublicKeyToken entry from the licenses.licx. Also tried the C1ProjectUpdater, still had the same issue.
3. Removed the licenses.licx file. Created a new project and put the controls from the main project into new project. compiled it. Copied the licenses.licx to my project. Recompiled Solution. Same issue.
Is there some else I can try. I read somewhere that if another license is on the computer, that it may cause problems, but they didn’t go into detail how to correct that issue, so if that could be the problem also, please let me know.

The nag screen is an alert which shows that the product is unlicensed. It does not prevent any feature to work.

However, to remove the nag screen I would suggest you to purchase our product.

Thanks for the reply. Would the nag screen prevent my program from running or perhaps I have some onther problem?

I am evaluting the componentone chart controls (Chart8). I am trying to use it as dll in my MFC application. But I could not find any sample application of the chart control. In the AxtiveX help file it is mentioned about location of MFC samples but that seems a location in CD.

Is there any like available to download MFC samples?

Any information regarding this will be greatly apepreciated.

You can compile and build exe with a trial version. However, you will get a nag screen on running the application.

The issue that are you facing is due to the missing entry of C1PrintDocument in the licenses.licx file. I have made the required entry and attached is the modified licenses.licx file for your reference.

You are using quite an old version of Spread which has not been tested with .Net Framework 4.0, so it might result in errors. I would suggest you to upgrade to the latest version of Spread i.e. Spread v7 that supports .Net Framework 4.0. You can download the same from the following link:

The behavior you are experiencing at the moment is actually by design. In case of page reports, you can bind a report data source to a collection of objects. But you would need to add the Fields manually to your report. Please note, section reports came from our older ActiveReports series. However, the page reports extend the functionalities provided by Data Dynamics Reports.

Unlike section reports, you can bind the page reports to multiple data sets available in a data source. For this reason, you need to add the fields manually to refer to the dataset you have bind the report with.

I’m reconnecting with an application I haven’t worked on in ~10 years. I originally built an ASP.NET web application running under .NET Framework 1.1. Now I am trying to convert the solution/project into VS.NET 2010 and it’s defaulting the target framework to v4.

The Spread version in use is version 1.0.3.0 (originally purchased back in 2002-2003). Will this version of Spread run within a .NET 4 web application? I originally built the app using VS.NET 2003. The application currently is in IIS 6 on a W2K3 server.

Kamil, it is mandatory to purchase the license to avoid the Nag screen. Without activating the license key on your Development machine, you would continue to receive the nag. Any development action on a machine with our components in a new or inherited projects will require a license.
