Hi,
I have been searching for a very long time to find a way to set the connection string dynamically for the application that I have designed in Visual Studio 2010. I finally came across Greg’s article: http://our.componentone.com/2010/01/26/dynamic-connection-strings/
I have a few questions. I downloaded the sample solution for VB, ran it and looked at the code. The code and the article state that when the finish button is clicked that a ConnectionStrings.xml file is written to the user’s data file. I ran the program (debug), and everything appears to function just like I have been looking for. I was unable to find the ConnectionStrings.xml file saved anywhere in my computer.
I have three questions:
1) where exactly is the ConnectionStrings.xml file supposed to get saved at?
2) what do I need to do (and where) in my application to make sure that the application uses this new connection string?
3) where would be the best place to put the Connection Wizard in my application, and any specifics on how I should link this up?
Thank you so very much (in advance) to all who reply.
Kelly
