C1PrintPreviewControl 2 Page Document with Facing Layout - Pages are not Side By Side

  • greggw 6 years, 5 months ago

    C1.Win.C1Preview.C1PrintPreviewControl (C1.Win.C1Report.2 version 2.6.20103.54206)

    How can I get pages in facing layout to show up side by side in the preview pane?

    As far as I can tell even number pages show up on the right and odd number pages on the left.  Can that behavior be changed so that odd number pages are on the left and even number pages on the right when facing (facing continuous) layout is selected?

    It's quite annoying for my users to see a two page document with the first page on the right above and the second page on the left below.

    Thank you,

    That behavior was modeled after Adobe Acrobat reader. You can easily modify it to suit your needs with the following property changed event handler on the preview pane:

    this.c1PrintPreviewControl1.PreviewPane.PropertyChanged += (pane, ee) =>
      if (this.c1PrintPreviewControl1.PreviewPane.PageLayout == C1.Win.C1Preview.PageLayoutEnum.Facing)
        this.c1PrintPreviewControl1.PreviewPane.PageLayout = C1.Win.C1Preview.PageLayoutEnum.Custom;
        this.c1PrintPreviewControl1.PreviewPane.Cols = 2;

    Hi Dima,

    Thanks for getting back to me.  I'm already using the suggestion you provided.  The problem with that is the buttons don't sync up visually on the toolbar when you set the PageLayout to Custom.  It provides the formatting I'm expecting though.

    Am I missing something about Acrobat Reader behavior?  All the documents I've viewed in Two Page View show up side by side with first page on the left.  See below for example of 2 page document in Two Page view.

    I think Acrobat changed its behavior at some point. In fact I think you're right and that's how the "2 pages" mode should behave. I will change this in one of the coming builds. In the meantime the only workaround that comes to mind would be to hide the default "2 pages" button and add a custom one, unfortunately. Thanks.

    Okay.  Thank you for taking the time to look into this Dima.
