I just upgraded a HTML help project to 2012-V2 (build 723) and the project output will no longer show the tri-pane format. Only the single opening page of help shows and there is no way to navigate or search from that page. This uses the D2H native xml source, and was orginally converted from a RoboHelp 5 project about one month ago with minimal issues.
If I go under project – Windows – Main the "Tri-pane Format" option is sleceted. Have tried rebuilding turning this on or off with absolutely no change in the resultant output file. At this point I have no clue as to what has changed!
I have another project I converted at the same time, and it correctly displays the Tri-pane in the output file. Clearly, there is some hidden setting or template change that is overriding the output format selection settings here – any help would be appreciated!
Thanks,
Gary

Hi Gary,
in order to provide some advice we need to know how to reproduce your issue. Therefore please let us know which tool you used for creation of the html help project before upgrading to D2H 2012 SR 723, was it D2H 2012v1 or RH 5?
Could you please give us the exact SR of the D2H you used for conversion of the RH project.
And, has the other project the one that works fine the same "history"?Best Regards,

Sabine,
Both projects have the same history. They were RH5 projects that were converted to D2H using the 2012 V1 release (I don’t have the SR number handy). A few days ago, I updated to D2H 2012v2 (SR723). When I first opened the projects in the new D2H version, a conversion message was presented where it said it was updating a file (I do not recall the name). Everything appeared to be normal for both projects, and I proceeded to make some edits. It was not until I built the project that the problem became apparent. I have looked over every setting between the two projects and there are very few differences and nothing that seems related to the issue. One works as expected and shows the tri-pane; the other does not!

Sabine,
The D2H build I used to make the initial conversion from RH5 was 2012v1 build 688. The system OS used for this is WIN7 64-bit SP1

In comparing the binary data between the two chm file, I see the bad file has question marks (?) for all the keyword links where the other file has numbers. The bad file is 5632K compared to 6023K for the good one. Seems like something did not complete processing.

Hello Gary,
I deeply apologize for the delayed response. Can you please provide me your sample project in which you are facing this issue?
I request you to please provide a complete project with documents, custom templates used(if any) so that I can check and can assist you further.
Regards
