In the report designer for winforms, we often need to sort on a report field rather than a field in the table.
This would be a great feature. Any plans to make this available. The value is on the report, it should be sortable.

Sorry, can you explain more? You want to sort datasouce records using value of report’s field? Value of this field calculated on the base of table fields?
May be you attach sample report template?

Sorry for the long delay in getting back on this.
In a footer called ColumnHeadings which is not grouped or sorted on anything you may have a field such as Sum(Commissions)
The report groups are:
ColumnHeadings
AssetCompany
InvestmentIDEach investment generates a commission. We are interested in only seeing the sum of the commissions for each company. This company total is not in the dataset but is summed by the report.
We want to sort the report so that the company with the highest sum of commissions shows first.

Sorry, but this is impossible this type of sorting should be implemented on the datasource level.

I realize that it can’t be done now. However, the fact that this value is in the report and it can be put in any of the bands should mean that you can do something to allow sorting on it.
The "impossible" just takes a while longer.
