Weird function when changing Specific Version option.

  •  JXBURNS said 10 months ago:

Using VS2008 (VB.NET) I have added C1.C1Report.2.Dll using Add References as usual. This is showin in Picture1 (showing wants to use Specific Version) and Picture2 showing the location of the DLL being (correctly) in the WinForm v2 folder.

I then change Specific Version to False as I have always done but the DLL location changes (Picture3) to the ASP version resulting in errors within the system due to a version conflict with C1.Win.C1Report.2 also loaded.

Change the Specific Version back to True and reverts to the WinForm version.

I have never seen this before and cannot seem to get the system to accept a Specific Version=False without it trying to use the ASP version. I have tried all kinds of options including clearing out the BIN folder, removing/adding the DLL, recompiling with/without the DLL loaded, checking app.config, etc.

It only seems to be related to C1.C1Report.2.Dll – remove and add back in C1.C1Report2.Dll and that stays as is when Specific Version is changed.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks – John

    Hello,

I am not too sure why are you facing this error as I am unable tr replicate the same at my end with both Winforms and ASP.Net studio being installed on my system.

Could you please try creating an all new project with C1Report and check that if Specific Version to false replicates the issue again?

Please share your further observations on the same.

    Thanks,
    Reeva Dhingra
